Cedaredge has a small town, rural ambiance creating a warm, friendly place to live. Founded in 1892 and incorporated in 1907, the town's economy was based on coal mining, agriculture, and ranching. The economy has changed in recent years to include more service-related businesses in response to the amount of tourism in the area.
